class summary
The goal of this intro course is to teach students a foundational understanding of color theory, through a series of hands-on technical exercises and still life paintings. In this course students will learn to organize their paint mixing in oils with a limited palette, gradually learning to understand paint mixing with an open palette. Students will work from life as well as from copies of masterworks, learning to perceive color the way a painter does.
No prior experience in Oils is required! As we keep class sizes small, our instructors can cater to each student’s individual skill level.
