workshop summary
This 3-day course with Francis Vallejo focuses on personal voice development and creative problem solving through extensive live figure drawing along with a healthy dose of inspiration from throughout art history. Each day will focus on specific mediums designed to push specific design theories (line, shape, value grouping). The final day will end with a group critique on the work created over the workshop.
Students will be challenged as to why they draw, render, and compose in a certain way. They will then develop confidence in making purposeful choices based on their visual interests and personal goals.
During the course, participants will utilize a wide range of tools designed to push mark making and visual vocabulary. Trainees will leave with a vision for the mediums, approaches, and theories to guide their work towards their unique personal styles and a confidence to push their creativity and playfulness like never before!
